Essentials of Business Card Design

Wondering what to put on a business card? With our graphic design team, we put together a video showing the essentials of design, and what information you should be sure to include! We begin with a standard horizontal business card size, at 3.5″ x 2″.

Your business card should at least include:

  • Company Name and Logo
  • Your First and Last Name
  • Your Job Title (If Applicable)
  • Your Phone Number
  • Your Email Address
  • Physical Address (If Applicable)

This way, your potential clients will always know the most convenient ways you can be reached.

Business cards are still relevant today, even in the age of smart phones. They are one of the easiest and quickest ways to distribute your contact information at meetings and events. Business cards can also easily be left behind, on a door or at a person’s desk. Also, it can aid in expanding your referral network, since even if the person you’ve marketed to doesn’t need your services, they may know someone who does! They will have your card in hand, ready to pass your information along!

A business card can be created in any design software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, and the Affinity software suite; however, if you do not have any of these programs installed, Dreamscape Printing offers a free online design tool. Templates can also be used and purchased. Our free online design tool also allows the creation of QR codes, which can be an accompanying digital option for your printed card.

Want even more info on business cards? We created another video explaining business card sizes, types, and paper thicknesses in even more detail.
